When the Sony Walkman was launched, 30 years ago this week, it started a revolution in portable music. But how does it compare with its digital successors? The Magazine invited 13-year-old Scott Campbell to swap his iPod for a Walkman for a week.

These works place Fairy Tale characters in modern day scenarios. In all of the images the Princess is placed in an environment that articulates her conflict. The '...happily ever after' is replaced with a realistic outcome and addresses current issues.

Encastrable is a series of guerrilla art residencies held inside gardening and DIY megastores in the Paris area. The project, which i discovered it while i was visiting the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris a few weeks ago, was initiated by Paul Souviron and Antoine Lejolivet.
At no cost at all, the young artists have at their disposal a huge array of material that they can grab, move, superimpose, and organize onto temporary installations and sculptures. Authorization of the manager of the establishment is obviously never requested.

These are 12 once Jamaican Red Stripe beer bottles that have been opened up into drinking glasses. The process starts by washing the bottle, then placing it into an annealing oven. The oven is set to one thousand one hundred degree, and let to sit for 30 minutes. A rod is then dipped into a melted pot of spectrum 96 glass and formed into a punti. The punti is then touched to the bottom of the bottle and transferred to a glory hole furnace. The bottle is heated until the glass begins to move. A special tool call jacks are then used to open the narrow bottleneck into a cylinder. Once the bottle is in its final shape it is then placed back into an annealing oven to cool of the course of 30 hours, to assure no stress fractures form in the cup.

This ad is being run in Singapore for a new seven inch burger at Burger King. I just can't understand how things like this make it though the marketing department. How many males out there would eat something like this after a phallic advertising campaign?

Loving this photo, it's making me hungry! This particular piece of photography was taken by David Sykes in one shot on 5×4 transparency.
